How many miles did you get out of your stock tires?
No I am a spirited driver, doing close to 100+ on highways. Do a lot of highway cruises long distance, I guess the tires I have were stronger than the rest somehow. But it is time to replace them, the tire noise when driving is getting to me.
ANY recommendations other than stock tires? For those that know a thing or two about performance tires, what do you think about the Hankook EVO V12 K110?

Interesting...I have a '08 "S" 6MT with 24K miles. The OEMs are so noisy I'm ready to chuck them even though they have a few miles left.
My 03 Lexus GS also came with Bridgestone OEMs that got noisy. Replaced them with 960 Pole Positions 40K miles ago. They have plenty of tread left, are wearing perfectly and are very quiet.
I'm think about putting a set of 960's on the G, but not sure that they will be the best choice for handling.

not really...the condition of the roads is a HUGE factor in how long tires last. If he was driving in NYC/NJ then I wouldn't be real quick to believe it, but depending on where they live I can definitely see 50K miles coming out of the OEM tires
Not impossible, no need to accuse the guy of lying. I think I could've gotten 50K miles if I was willing to live with the tire roar.
Just got my new 2008 Journey with 18k on them - dealership says 50% left. I suspect (hope) these are the original stock tires. Dunlop 225-50 x18 SP Sport Maxx is what it looks like F&R. Does that sound like what you had originally? Thanks.
Hi all,
I bought my 2009 G37 Journey brand new in June 2009. As of Monday, August 1, 2011, I had just under 25k miles on them. I live in La Quinta, CA in the So. California low desert, where the summers are brutal. I have a 4-mile RT work commute, but I put on the miles from driving to the SD beach area a couple weekends a month to visit my boyfriend.
After my 25K service, the service people told me I have 6/32 left on my tires--all 4 ae Dunlop 225/50ZR 18 XL (lucky me, come rotation time!) and that I would need to replace them before my next service at 30K.
Judging from the posts, that sounds about right--or do you thinkk I can squeeze another 10K on them?
Would really appreciate your feedback!
Thanks!

Well the Dunlops on our Journey had 16k miles on them and two if the tires were pretty bad. But .... who knows if the original owner ever rotated them, etc. I kept two of the Dunlops as emergency spares. We now go Blizzaks in the winter and the Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions for summer.
Now, before someone points out you go with Winter tires in winter and All Season in the summer, why not go summer tires in the summer. My wife drives the car Mon - Fri as a commuter abut 40 miles one way. She doesn't drive aggressively so I went with all season because of wet roads, wet leaves, chance of snow (before switching to the blizzaks), etc.

I've got about 1000 miles on my IPL running Bridgestone Potenza RE050A.
These tires seem overly expensive but they sure do look good on these wheels. Are there any other good recommended tires that would keep the great look, possibly reduce the cost, and improve the overall feel of the drive?
