From what everyone drives on or has driven on, in your opinion what is the best all around all season tire for these AWD cars? Michelen Pilot? Dunlop Sport Maxx? Continental? Just trying to narrow down the choices.

 

If i was going to use all-season tires again, and I won't. The best ones are either the Pilots and probably the Bridgestone 960 Pole position.

All tires are considered a compromise, all-season tires are the ultimate compromise. My current G37S sedan drives better in the snow with winter tires compared to my previous 08xS with the stock all-season Dunlops.

 

Haven't used anything but snows or the OEM 18" tire on my 6MT but I have used all sorts of tires over time and Michelins are ALWAYS the better tire, especially in the all-season stuff. They're expensive but cost per mile is better.

 

Just picked up some 45/35/20 Dunlop Sport Signature all-seasons, they've been a huge upgrade from the Goodyear RS-As, better in every road condition thus far, except haven't had snow yet to try them in the white stuff. Tirerack.com website has the full reviews on this tire. Price is very good too!

Truth be told, I wanted to go with A/S Dunlop Sport Maxx but they weren't available in 235/45/18 so I went w/ the Continentals. I've been running the Continentals for 1,500 miles so far, primarily in snow, and they've been very good thus far (ice not so good - if you get A LOT of ice where you live, go w/ winter tires). I'm curious to see how they will perform once March hits, but I'm anticipating that they'll be very good.

 

I had some continental extreme contact tires on my last car (Volvo S60R) and they were excellent in wet/dry and snow weather. I am most likely going back to those tires once I use up these Dunlop's!

 

Do you like the dunlops? Are they quiet? Good ride?

 

What size(s) are you running?

 

I have to run 225/50/18's all around as I have the G37X with soon to be non sport 18in wheels.. I visit your website weekly as it is comprehensive. I have heard nothing but great things about your company.

 

Thanks for the size and compliments For what's made in that size I would go with the B-Stone RE960 or Dunlop Sport Sig. The 960 will handle aggressive driving a bit more, the Dunlop better riding and quieter. Both are good choices.

What's your opinion of the Dunlop Sport Maxx A/S tires.

 

Average really. An oem tire on the G but there are better options for less $.

 

Do you know off hand whether or not I can run an 18 x 8 G37XS Coupe wheel on my G37X Sedan? The sedan OEM 18 in wheel is 18 x 7.5. The bolt pattern is the same as is the offset. Both have non staggered tire needs. If so then I will be ordering tires from you shortly.

 

Not sure how different the offsets are so don't want to say 100% either way. That's one thing we do not cross fit is oe wheels. Sorry.

 

FYI, if you want 'all-season' tires ... I went with Nokian WRG2 235/50/18 tires all 4 corners for winter use (rarely has 4" of snow on the ground at any time where I live). The tires have the 'snowflake' for winter duties but uses an all-season compound so you won't have to worry too much about excessive tread wear during those odd warm early spring days.
