Empty Brake Fluid
Hi Guys, I got my G37x Sedan for 3 weeks now.
I just checked under the hood with concern for the oil consumption issue and saw that the brake fluid tank is all empty.
I e-mailed my dealer and going to bring it in tomorrow....
The car is at 600 miles now. What the heck?

Fill it before driving to the dealership. Perhaps it didn't get filled completly. I can't see it leaking down completely and you didn't notice.

I probably wouldn't drive it at all if you don't know how to properly check your brakes for leaks. Just think worst case scenario - brake failure.

I think I would notice if it was leaking completely..
What kind of brake fluid does it use?
I'll fill it up before taking it in as Black Betty suggested.
Thanks.

Use a good quality DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid. Castrol or Valvoline are brand names to consider. And watch out for soft or spongy brakes if air gets into your lines. The dealer will want to bleed and refill the entire system.

what color is the OEM brake fluid supposed to be?
My old car had blue color and I jsut read that it could be clear for DOT 3/4....
I might have to go down to check it out again now...

Just went for a second check...
indeed the brake fluid is clear LOL.
They topped it above the max line that I couldn't see the fluid level without trying really hard.
I feel stupid now.

I don't know how EVERYONE didn't notice that the fluid was just above the MAX line in this pic. Am I one of the only few that aren't blind?

I didn't wait for photos to load on my phone's browser. It seems you didn't actually open the reservoir to check. You're probably laughing at yourself as hard as we're laughing at you. No harm done.
