wheel and tire question

Just got my new g37 sedan journey with sport and premium package today!

First thing I want to do is get some new wheels. I was wondering what was the widest and lowest offset i could go for the car and should I go with 19" or 20" or keep them at 18"...I wont be dropping the car anytime soon and when I do they will most likely be just drop springs or coilovers. Also recommended tire brand and sizes. Thanks!

Here is my recommendation for a non-aggressive setup (no crazy alignment specs, or rubbing). If you have sport brakes you will need to verify that the wheels will clear the brakes (really the fronts-- many wheels do not).
Front 19x8.5" +30
Rear 19x9.5" +40

This will put both the front and rear wheels pretty flush with the fenders. I am running a 8.5" +36mm on the front, and 9.5" +37mm on the rear. My rears stick out about 3mm too far, and my front could come out another 5mm, or so.

You can go up to a 9" wheel in the front (some people are even running a 9.5"). The rear can go to a 10" (and again some people are running a 10.5"). If you go wider, you need a higher offset. For every half inch you need to add about 6mm in offset.

I think the 19's are a good compromise of weight, performance, and looks. If you go with a staggered setup, 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 are the closest to factory sizes (both within 1% of overall diameter). I am running Falken 452's, and I am happy with them. I have had a myriad of different tires, and I think these are pretty decent for the price.

Most people that do +1 or +2 aftermarket wheels lower their car. Believe it or not, the ride quality is fine. If you are considering lowering it ... just don't over do it. Here is a list of what others have done:

I gotta say... the list Terry provided is a great tool. I went through every setup on their in order to make an informed decision. The only big issue/difference is the brakes on our cars are massive compared to the 07-08 brakes.

Just make sure the wheel you choose clears your brake calipers; you MAY have to sacrifice some offset, depending on the spoke design of the wheel you choose.

If lowering, please get coils, as you WILL blow the stock shocks on just aftermarket springs.

19x9.5 +17 225/40R19
19x10.5 +24 245/40R19 here.

19x9 +25 245/35R19
19x10 +35 275/35R19 is my old setup. Perfect and aggressive. (with a drop. will stick out without a drop)

Do not listen to anyone who says these offsets are TOO aggressive. Well, maybe the first setup, but the second setup is perfect.

TRUST ME!

I'm on my 4th set of rims.

How much negative camber are you running? Bro, your setup looks great, but no doubt that is aggressive any way you slice it.... I agree that the second set (your old Advan setup) is on the low end of aggressive, but you still need to run 2+ degrees of negative camber to make that work. The first set looks sick on your car, but wouldn't fit on 99.9% of our cars.

My guess is that if the OP is not dropping his car, he is not looking for anything remotely close to aggressive like what you are talking about. I am not knocking your setup, but it is not for everyone....
