I was wondering since I have OEM wheels and can't seem to find a definitive answer to which after market wheel locks would work on them, could I replace all the lugs with 5 different sets of OEM wheel locks?

I know it will not stop them but it may deter them...

Just wondering if doing this would be safe from a driving point of view.

 

Safe, but pain to change a wheel. But maybe that makes it better for theft. Not a real cheap option. Is theft of OEM wheels a problem in your area?

 

wheel locks are as sturdy as an OEM lug... and i've been doing this already but the tough part is just to find the right wheel lock key for the lock.... you got 1 in 5 chance to get it right the first time

 

From what i read on here, no aftermarket lugs will work with the OEM wheels. The stock lugs have a wider base that support the stock wheel, so thats the only way to go.

I would just change one or two of the lugs to oem locks, i think that will be deterrent enough?

 

No problem in my area, but then again I never leave it out overnight, but there is always a possiblity of leaving it out else where.

Thanks for the responses, I did not know if it would be safe to drive using all wheel lock. Guess I'll bit the bullet and get a few more sets.

 

If the purpose of you doing that is solely to deter thieves, I'd get aftermarket alarm instead.
