Unhappy Confusion with tires...

Is it just me or the pictures look really different.
I was looking at GiGGaplease's and Gan78mao's tires...
but i noticed GiGGaplease's tire look a lot more square and thicker compare to Gan78mao.

245/40/19
275/35/19

BTW does it hurt to go slower than OEM diameter?
I know your not going the same speed rate when you go smaller. Is that the only thing thats bad? Is that even bad?

I noticed a lot of people in this forum used:
245/35/19
275/30/19
These sizes are at least 1" smaller in diameter compare to OEM.

its the company. some companies have thicker sidewalls while others have thin sidewalls for the same tire sizes.

it wouldnt hurt if you go with 35/30 on 19's. ask unv for his opinion, he has those sizes.

Yeah, it really depends on the brand. Give Lou a call tomorrow. He can suggest to you which brands will work the best for you.

IMO you are better off reducing the size of your tire from a performance standpoint. You will reduce some unsprung weight by smaller sidewalls. You also bring the majority of the rotational mass closer to the center point of the wheel. You also tighten up your drive ratio a bit ( a tire with a smaller circumfrence is going slower at that a normal tire at the same RPM). All three effects probably don't amount to much as far as performance gains, but it's something. Only crappy part is your speedo will be fast by a bit.

if u want a aggressive drop and offset and dont want 2 rub you need a more rounded sidewall tire...my vredestein tires are nicely rounded, that oculd be a big reason y i never rubbed on tein stechs and 20x9 and 20x10.5 rims 245 30 and 285 25 tires..

looks like you went with smaller diameter by 1" in the front and 2" in the rear.

Correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn't smaller circumference result in faster rotation compare to larger circumference?

yes, it will rotate faster but it wouldnt go any faster in the mph term.

So his statement should be
"( a tire with a smaller circumfrence is going faster at that a normal tire at the same RPM)."

Going with smaller tire means your not going to drive as fast as the speed is telling you on the dash board. Example, our OEM tire diameter 27" front 26.8" rear. So lets say you went with 25.8" rear this means your losing 2.8mph (3.7% slower)

for like example, if you go with a bigger size tires than oem. it will rotate slower but you are really going faster than what is indicated on the speedometer.

Gotcha, better remember that when you change the tire size or it's speeding ticket waiting to happen
