I'm looking to install spacers in the rear on stock suspension and stock 19s for a wider stance. For the experts out there, what is the the widest recommended size that would be safe to run?

 

I would go no more than 15mm

 

not a fan of spacers but yea 15mm should be okay... wouldnt go much bigger

 

interested in getting spacers myself even though the stocks sit rather "even" with the body, who makes good spacers for our stock setup to give it a more "flush" finish, and how many mm up front and in the back would be needed?

 

the stocks dont sit anywhere near even!!!!!

 

^ yeah I said they sit rather "even" (compared to a lot of cars) but not perfect which is why I am looking to get spacers to have it just right, anyone know who makes spacers to make the wheels sit flush?

 

Eibach and H&R both make hubcentric spacers which is what you want. I would not go more than 10MM and definitely use the longer wheel studs. I am not a big fan of bolt on spacers or non hubcentric.

 

Why not 15, would there be any clearance issues?

 

15mm or 20mm, i tried 25mm in the front and it sitted flush; however, havent put them on the rear.

 

With a 15 or more you are either using too long of wheel studs (that could possibly break), not tightening the lug nuts down enough (which can cause your wheels to fall off) or bolting on extensions (whichis just another spot where something can come loose).

 

^^but would 10mm make a difference?

 

IMO, I wouldn't do it. Spacers aren't the safest thing to use and the stock wheels look good as they are. Just my preference though.

 

I have 10mm spacers in the rear and they are fine...I don't know why many are "scared" of spacers. TRue, I did have a horrible vibration in the front with a 5mm spacer because I had to go minimum 10mm. I just left the front alone and put 10mm in the rear.

As it sits right now, I think it looks excellent. I really don't like the guys here lowering their cars with the stock rims...I think it looks terrible, no offense. The tires look even more indented when lowered.

I would personally not go more than 10mm. Right now, when the tires spin they are close to flush with the fenders. i would fear 15mm would be a bloody mess on your fenders and lower areas of the car because the armor all would be all over the paint. I notice more armor all black dots all over the place as it is now with the 10mm spacers...no biggie but on white it shows.

The Eibach spacer is a high quality piece and, honestly, I am not concerned at all about the wheel s falling off or studs braking. Spacers have been around forever on racing cars to widen the track for better handling.
