What does the "fine print" that's on the side of the keys in the 2nd photo say?

Basically, the way that the warranty works is this, in order to be covered Rimlox has authorized dealers all over the country, When you buy the locks and want the guarantee, they send you to an authorized dealer near you to install them. Two keys come with the kit, one for the Owner, the other for the Authorized Dealer. All Locks/Keys sets are individually made and have engraved serial numbers. Once they are properly installed on the car by the Authorized dealer, They retain the Unsealed key filling out all the warranty paperwork and sending it into Rimlox. The sealed key goes with you in case of an emergency. In the event that you need to take off your wheels and can't make it to the dealer, unseal the key and take care of whatever is necessary and send the key back to Rimlox to reseal it. Now this is only the case if you want to retain the Guarantee. Being as they are pretty much impossible to take off the car with out destroying the wheels some people just keep both keys.

I see. So to maintain the guarantee, you either have to go to the same authorized Rimlox dealer every time you want to remove the wheels or you have to send your key back to them to be resealed after each time you use it, correct? Rimlox doesn't keep a copy of your key as well?

Rimlox does not keep a copy of the key, they would have to machine a new key if you lost yours with proof of ownership. Everything is kept on record via serial number.

So for those of us that like to remove our wheels and clean them from time to time, this is not the way to go then right, if we want the guarantee?

What you say is very true Zoster, and if you just want to protect your high end aftermarket wheels from theft more then the guarantee means to you, and that's the way I feel, forget the guarantee and give me the extra key.

Agreed - Not interested in authorized dealers and sealed cracker jack encoder rings. What would a set with no guarantee run?
