VPP question on options
VPP question on options
Hey everyone,
I was looking at the VPP pricing page and my dad qualifies for plan D, so I might go with an '09 G37s. A buddy of mine bought a VPP G35 a few years ago and told me that the VPP discount is ONLY valid on the base price and not for the options. Is that still the case? Or do you apply their crazy calculations to the invoice pricing including options?
BTW, with plan D it seems like you basically pay 0.8% over invoice (if options are also discounted), or $310 over invoice, plus the dealership gets 2.5% from Nissan, or $943, so the dealer makes out $1,254 ahead of invoice, which seems pretty darn good actually.
Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated!!

I was a VPP customer for my G37. The VPP applies to what comes from the factory so if you get premium, nav, tech, etc, it falls under VPP. Any "dealer" installed option are not discounted. I'm pretty sure that's how it goes.
I don't know about C, but D is 1.65% below invoice, but then you pay 2.5% of the discounted price (Nissan picks up the other 2.5%), so the net amount is 0.8% above invoice. Weird mathamagics they have, had to bust out an excel sheet. BTW, my $ figures were based on the options I wanted.
Cheers!
Remember that nowadays, depending on your location, you might be able to bargain a deal that's better than VPP, although the nice thing about VPP is avoiding the hassle of bargaining in the first place.
