'10 NIssan GTR 'Ring Run of 7:26:7

Nice vid of the 2010 GTR's run of 77. as i was watching the vid i did notice a little understeer at some of the corners...the driver wasn't also manually shifting at all, it seems it's on auto and the setting are all on race. damn do those dual clutches shift fast...

http://blogs.edmunds.com/straightlin...-than-zr1.html

any guesses on the spec V's time when it runs the ring?

i'm sure with the revised brakes, lighter weight, and that funky boost option the time will get down to the 7:25s...but according to nissan we won't see an official ring time form the spec v...i wonder why? maybe it would show that's it's not worth twice the amount of a regular GTR? lol.

very interesting to watch! I also compared to the ZR1 video and something caught my eye. The ZR1 is a smidge faster with a manual transmission, while the GTR is running a dual cluch auto.

I wonder what kind of difference it would make if they fitted the ZR1 with such a transmission, because aren't dual clutch auto's better than a traditional manual?

I saw the driver using the paddles to shift.

I'd have to watch it again to pinpoint the time but I saw it too.

Try looking about 29 to 30 seconds into the video (downshifting). I think all shifts were manually clicked, it's just hard to see most of them because what we are looking for is hard to spot by nature, a drivers finger behind the wheel with the camera positioned where it is...the paddles are mostly covered by the wheel or hands most of the time.

car magazine and inside line covered this run...all options were production available (the tires i believe are available in a sport package?, please someone look into the car mag article to confirm?). what IS questionable was that this car recieved a custom alignment....which nissan says is available upon request (which i have never heard of....)
