People read "new york" and color everything with a NYC marker. I'm in Rochester, which although that's one hour closer to NYC than Buffalo, it's still Western New York, and still a 7 hour drive. Meh.

Yeah, mentally I divide NY into NYC and upstate - without concept of how big upstate is.

I've been to Poughkeepsie. and NYC to see the Intrepid museum back in... whoa, 1993 or so.

Aaaand I'm not going

Realized that there's no realistic way to get the car ready (perhaps even running) in 2 weekends and I have a family member in hospice so can't really leave town. Sorry folks - it was a good time last year and looks to be this year.

You should. Registration without onsite parking is free - you can always buy the Tshirt if you want it for less than the $95 package deal. I had a *really* good time. There should be someone there from Carolina Z club, specifically a purpled-out coupe with SC plates (I think it's Vixen or something similar). I can't recall name. But good folks.

I wonder if they'll do facility tours like they did last year - the showed off the 3D fab lab and design labs which was pretty cool.

Since we have friends (and I have a colleague) in ATL, we were originally considering going down just in my wife's car and she and the minion doing the nature park, coke museum etc while I was at the show and then we could all do the aquarium - but I need to stay put for the next month or so.
