Guys I think I have this. When I get home after driving and I am just idling with my windows open I hear like a "snap crackle pop" noise from the car - it's difficult to tell what part of the car the noise originates from but I think it may be the dash. After turning the car off the crackling noise continues but fades awway within 10-30 seconds. Could this be the noise described in this TSB??

 

Guys some input please - Do u think my noise is this cause if so I wanna call and set up an appointment....thanks...

 

This TSB is not your problem. Trust me. I have the problem in this TSB and that's not it. The click/tap in this TSB is only heard from the interior and sounds like someone clicking a mouse button from inside the dash on the drivers side.

 

That sounds like normal exhaust parts contracting, especially around the parts that have heatshields.

 

Nope my ticking was pretty obnoxious. They narrowed it to faulty insulation on my stock YPipe, they ordered me a new YPipe and should be installed by Friday this week hopefully. I was pretty surprised considering my car is babied, garaged, and only had 6,600 miles on it so far!

Warning to any and all of you with loud obnoxious ticking from under the car that you hear while idling after the car is warm. Sounds like popcorn popping almost or like the ticks a gas stove makes before lighting up, only more erratic and varied in sound.

 

mine jus started doing this tonight....this morning was the first time I used my heater....its obnoxious....i was driving around forever with my wife trying to hear where is was coming from.....she'll be in the shop next week (the car that is ;-)

 

i just found out i have this issue as well, it coming from the center of the dash, almost right next to the center dash speaker on the top of the navi.

 

does it sound like a straight out rattle noise? I might have it as well. I hear rattle from my dash all the time.

 

I've STILL got it. i brought it in to be done a few weeks ago, they said they performed the TSB, but the rattle is still there.

so this sounds basiclly like clicks in the middle dash right?

 

yeah, they increase in rapidity when speed increases.

 

^ Thanks for the info, but i really cant tell if the click's im hearing increase, its the same level all the time.

 

i dont think i have this, i just hit a bump or something and i would hear rattle from my dash

I had a tapping/ clicking noise coming from dash on the drivers side down low..took it in two times.. they finally kept it for a few days and said there was a bulletin that came out..some **** in cooling/heating system had to be flushed..Well I guess they were right noise is gone
