Hahahaha. Seriously though, I bet his dad really was intoxicated and that's why he left his car running. Seems like something too ridiculous to forget while sober.

ill admit, he had a drink but hes a BIG guy so one drink wont do anything. the thing that scares me though is the car beeps at you as you walk away and he didnt hear it...i still laugh when i think about it.

The intelli-key only works if you employ the "intelli" part.

i don' t get it. doesn't the key have to be with the vehicle in order for it to run? i thought this was part of the security. i would assume the engine would shut off after a pre-determined amount of time with the key missing. hence the warning beeps as u walk away.

The Intelli-key fob does not have to stay with the vehicle once it is running. The system does give an audible warning as you walk away, but will keep running just as if you had left the keys in it. The only difference is, if someone drives it away and shuts it off they can't restart it.
I prefer it the way it is - it would be a major PITA if I started my car and got out to scrape the ice off the windows, only to have the engine shut itself off. It also means that I can leave the car running in the driveway, lock the doors and go back in the house (with my keys) to get something I might have forgotten.
