Does anyone know if you'll have a problem with the all wheel drive if switching the rims from stock to g37S? I was told it would mess up the AWD function of the car because of the different size rims and tires.

So long as the diameter of the wheels are exactly the same you will be fine. Its when you change the diamter that the car's awd system can get messed up.
