Should I trade my G37x for an FX50S?

I leased a G37x sedan in the spring of 2011. Since then my financial situation has and changed to allow for a nicer car. Even though I have a year on my lease I've been looking around and trying to dump my G. On a trip this past weekend I received an FX37 as a rental. I was really impressed by the outside design and even some of the interior features. After coming back I went to my local Infiniti dealer to discuss the possibility of getting out of my G and into an FX50S. They found the exact care that I wanted (Black with Java interior).

I'm debating making the switch even though I said I wouldn't buy another Infiniti. I really like the styling of the FX50 exterior but I'm less a fan of the interior especially the Nissan/Infiniti Nav.

My current lease deal is $472 a month for 39 months and 15,000 miles a year. The new lease deal on a fully loaded FX50S is $1000 for 39 months and 12 miles a year including the pull-ahead on my current car.

I guess I have two questions. #1 is this a good deal? #2 How is the FX50S? Will I be happy with it or should I look at something like a Cayenne or an X5. I understand this is a subjective question so I'd be interested in hearing people's opinion.

The FX50S is a beast if you can afford it. But for 1000/ month, i'd finance it rather than lease.

1000$ a month on a leased car note is crazy. I'd say keep your g until your lease is over at least.

I guess the money doesn't bother me since it's consistent for a lease in that price range (I've looked at a BMW 550 and X5). I guess though, if I didn't have the g to trade in then the cost would be significantly lower on the FX. I think what it comes down to is I'm not a huge fan of the g's interior at this point (especially the nav/entertainment unit). Maybe by the time I'm looking for a new car they will integrate some of the stuff from the Q...

Not really. The very base 740i is $970 with $2500 down. A 550 with nothing down comes out to about $1000. Maybe other people have better negotiating skills than I do but that's the best I've gotten.

I went from an 08G37 to an FX37. Never looked back.

IMO I would never pay a G for a leased car. That's just crazy. If you can afford that $$ then why not purchase outright...

My $0.02

Save your money for a down payment on a 50 and buy it.
I get it. You got a raise and can afford more stuff. Let that money stack in your account for bit. I prefer fat bank accounts to fat cars but thats just me...

I've got a FX35 and its amazing! However, I would personally look to own, opposed to leasing. Keep us posted on your journey! good luck.

Just buy a fiat 500 abarth, and take the rest of the money you saved and put it into your retirement fund.

$1000 a month could go to a mortgage instead.

Keep your G bro and stop being crazy. Unless you make 10 stacks a month.....A stack a month for a vehicle is crazy money.

Love my FX50S, I went from a couple of G35X sedans to the FX and never looked back.
