How are they going to improve the FX's to make them worth the extra? Seems like the EX will have everything you need!

new V8
luxury amenities not available on the EX
more standard equipment than the EX
more room than the EX
etc...
If BMW can sell their X3 alongside their X5, Infiniti can sure as hell figure out how to market the EX alongside its big brother FX.

I'm not so sure the next FX will be a seven seater. It would be difficult, because while the FX will be growing, I'm sure Nissan is going to want to keep it's "coupe-like" style and stance.
The next generation QX, which will probably debut in late 2009, will be a rebadged version of the export-market, next generation Nissan Patrol and it will move downmarket slightly, probably at a pricepoint that will slot it between the FX37 and FX45. It will take design cues from the Nissan Terranaut concept:

While the Nissan Patrol is very popular in export markets - particularly Africa, Australia, and the Middle East - volume is small, so by exporting it to the US as an Infiniti, Nissan will be able to justify the expenses of the next generation model, which was supposed to debut this year. Toyota, similarly, sells the export market Land Cruiser Prado, which is the Patrol's most direct competitor, as the GX470 in the US.

What I don't like is that Infiniti broke family tradition creating the EX. Every other vehicle since 2002 has had the signature "catamaran" style or or "wave" hood. I don't see that with the EX. I guess that could be a good thing, otherwise, the front would look exactly like the G35. Wouldn't be a make or break purchasing decision...but, hey. Also, would have liked it to be a little more aggressive but I do realize Infiniti is targeting women with this vehicle. Nothing wrong with that. I just hope the new FX will be just as aggressive as the outgoing model.
