Kick Plates not on

Hello,
I recently got a 2010 Infiniti G37 CV that came installed with kick plates. I never actually checked if they were turning on or automatic. Recently I realized that the kick plates do not turn on. Is there a mode I need to select from somewhere or anything I need to do to turn them on?
