Metro Infiniti + Modding/Leases

Been talking with uclabruin about some mods, particularly about painting my grill and headlight housing. Does anyone here have any experience or knowledge on how accommodating Metro Infiniti is with this kind of modding when I'm on a lease?

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Call and ask. Every dealer is different. Some mods actually add great value to the car. Your sales person would be the best person to talk to.

Yeah I was originally gonna just call but I was worried they'd just say no just so I wouldn't do it.

here is what i have been told on all my cars. as long as you can put it back to stock its ok. body kits, wheels etc. If you modify a part you have to be able to put it back to stock, if not you are in trouble. So if you paint something, can you paint it back?

Headlight are tricky. B/c once the seal is broken if they fully inspected your car would realize that it was done, they might have you buy new headlight housings. Remember though you can always trade parts for stock parts later on down the road if you lease.

Lastly, you can buy thecar at the end of your lease if you do crazy stuff to it.

So to answer your question, just be prepared to have to put everything back to stock. Dealer might not even notice some stuff though at time of inspection.

The dealer does not do the inspection; the inspection is done through an independent third party that is not brand-related.

Most mods do not add value to the car; they actually make the car worth less.

Mods that do nothing to the car's value:
Tint

Mods that can potentially ADD to the car's value:
CARB legal power adders
Wheels
factory aero parts (non-OEM does not count)

Anything else detracts from the car's value, including non-CARB power mods, turbo kits, body kits, etc.

Thanks for the help guys .

Mike: So I'm assuming the mods that detract from the car value would normally have to be taken out/put back to stock?

Our dealer has always been lenient towards modified vehicles and work on them all day long.

working on them, and having a modded car and the end of a lease when it is due to be returned are two completely different things
