Would anyone be up for a weekend trip to the tail of the dragon in late Oct - early Nov? I have a group interested in going, so far 5 people. I have a hotel connection so the rooms would be discounted.

Definitely a possibility. It'll likely be a bit chilly, but should be good for a mildly spirited run through the dragon, cherohala, and moonshiner.
You can also do the diamondback with the snake (rt80), stay in little switzerland. It's about 2h closer, but the roads are very good as well.

There is a 'meet' scheduled at the Tail of the dragon on Oct 6th, Saturday. Its called 'Attack the Dragon' there is a facebook page for it, and this is the 11th time its been held.
I know 4 cars going not including myself, anyone interested in this date and event?
