3.7 gears in auto vert, best mod yet!

I finished my second mod of the month yesterday. Most will recall I installed the 1st set of coilovers from BC racing over the past couple of weeks (still working that one out). Yesterday I had the shop install a VLSD 3.70 rear differentialout of a 2010 6 speed. Sorry did get any pic but what a difference. This is the way the auto very should have come from the factory. The 3.7 gears make the weight increase of the vert nonexistent. Gear changes 1-4 are rapid fire. And when the trans goes to 5th gear for economy the increase in RPM keeps it from luggin around. RPM at 60 in 7th is 2100. And best of all cruise control still works! I highly recommend this to anyone with an auto vert. The swap is straight forward just switch the auto and manual driveshaft coupler and bolt in (the manual pinion does not have the extension shaft that goes into the drive shaft but it doesn't effect the balance any) and enjoy!

Don't think so due to the fact you have 2 differentials.

What was the total cost of the job and is the dealer going to know? I'm in a lease, I want to not worry about changing it out when the car goes back.

Upon lease return no one will be able to tell there is a different gear in the rear diff unless the driver compares it to a similar car side by side (driving comparison).

If you are gonna return the car with the 3.9 gears just factor this cost into the fun factor as throw away $ (like the vert spoiler), or have it removed before lease return & sell it privately...

$600 for the 2010 differential with 9000 miles. $400 install. Much better return for investment than my exhaust and hypertech tune.

Realize this is an old post however, I just changed the 3.30 to a 3.69 VLSD (full pumpkin)from a 6MT (e-bay) in my 09 convertible. swapped the pinion flange, no other issues. Cruise, rev match all work fine. eliminated the slightly annoying lock-up converter shudder (nice). Great upgrade. gets to redline quick. No noise, plenty of gear left at high speed. No noise, no vibrations, no issues. $600.00 delivered + $300.00 install. Sorry, no pictures. Anyone else considering this.... Just do it!

This looks like one of those must have have mods. So will this improve any 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times?

Well its only been 1 day so I don't want to over state results but this is a nice upgrade. You will see a difference as soon you give it a little gas. If you give it a lot of gas you may have trouble getting the smile off your face. Yes, it's faster.

Not sure about 08s. It may take some looking for a gear.

I might want this also, I have an '09 vert as well.

Will a Dealer do the install?

This sounds like it would make my ride much more enjoyable but I don't know who to go to that would be reliable for this, and I don't want to void my powertrain warranty!
