Strange formatting-too many thanks
Hey, so I don't know if this is just for me or if there's some kind of issue, but threads have gone crazy for me. I've deleted the cookies and cache but it still persists. Any ideas? Big picture warning. It's in every thread as well.

It seems the thanks button occurrence grows in direct relationship to the number of comments, less your own comment, specific to the pagination you have configured. Go to Page 2, and the magic starts all over again. The sequence number of the thanks button you click on will indicate which comment you're actually thanking... less 1 after your own comment.
See, you just have to figure it out. It's a feature.

Both systems have their pluses and minuses, but every single system can be and are abused on most forums. You can't make someone who lacks it have integrity. Both thanks and rep tend to often devolve into a way for members to stroke their buddies (whether deserving of not) and screw with others that they don't like (whether deserving of not). Which is unfortunate because they're both great ideas. I've seen it work well in some forums. Thanks should be a way to quickly find extremely useful threads, like a badass DIY or a useful solution that a member presents to a common issue. But it's not.
Anyway, the issue has been reported to Admin so hopefully it'll be resolved soon.

The sports forum i frequent has something very similar to the "Thanks" button only it's a "High Five" button. Works in the same fashion though.
Totally agree with BB on the abuse of the rep option. Too many buddy systems and cliques on forums takes away it's credibility unfortunately....
