I would suggest allowing the seller to list the state of where he/she resides listed on the first page of the classifieds (with all the listings) for each listing. This saves time and allows the potential buyer to determine much more easily if they can purchase locally or need to have it shipped.

This is something that ClubLexus.com changed a few years ago to their classifieds section.

 

Location of the item is supposed to be listed in every listing but I have to admit that we haven't been diligent about enforcing that. We need to do a better job with that.

On Clublexus, it's actually a requirement. You cannot continue without inputting your state and lists the location for EVERY item in the classifieds.

It's very helpful for the consumer (and seller) while they are sifting through pages of classifieds.

Check it out. It's a simple yet very necessary feature. It makes a big difference in my opinion.

OK, I see what you're talking about now. That is a good idea IMO. But that is something our Administrators would have to weigh in on as it's beyond the authorization of Moderators. I[ll bring it to their attention and see if anything can be done. I personally love the idea.

 

It's a no-brainer in my opinion. I'm sure the Admins will see that.

As a buyer, it cuts down on time. Also, if I see a part for sale that happens to be local to me, I'm more inclined to purchase it (even if I wasn't looking for that particular item but just happened to be browsing the classifieds).

Do you see what I mean? Helps the buyer AND seller.

Clublexus uses Vbulletin forum software as well (who doesn't?). It should be an easy add-on.

 

I'm sold. As I said, I think it's a fantastic idea. But it's not my call. It's been forwarded to the people who can make it happen. Let's give them some time to look into it.
