@socketz67 I never had much to begin with and now that I'm significantly older I have even less. I had to replace the charcoal canister "vent control valve" and after 10min. with that bloody plastic contraption I was ready to take a sledge hammer to the whole thing.

As for the steering wheel cover I am at a disadvantage now. Because I have the Q60 heated wheel fitted redlinegoods advised that heated wheels can't be re-covered without damaging the mesh heating element and that if I just add their "wrap" over the existing leather the heat output would be diminished ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Open to reasonable offers, lets get this sold as I no longer own this car. If this doesn't sell soon I'm going to get a spare wheel and wrap it and sell that wheel already done.

Not in the market for this one (my interior isn’t black), but just wanted to say I think products from Redline Goods are excellent. I’m sure this wheel wrap is high quality as well

have we concluded that this cannot be installed unless one removes the steering wheel?
or
is it just easier if the wheel is removed?

Looks great, Is the cover for the controls painted? Looks gray in the picture? Nice touch

Thank you. I spray painted it then put 1 coat of clearcoat on it. Looks very glossy in the picture but it’s not so much in person. If I were to do it again though, I would do a flat black instead. Some of the pics are before I painted it with all the rubbery material scratched off it so it looks gray. It’s crazy to me that the designers at Infiniti approved whatever that god awful finishing material was for the trim pieces that a light swipe of a finger nail will scratch it off and make it look horrible.

Could it be done without removing the steering wheel? Yes. But that would be just so incredibly dumb and foolish. It takes 10 min to remove the steering wheel and then enables you to take it inside and stitch it all together from the comfort of your living room couch and hold the wheel in any which way is most convenient. I did mine 5 years and about 40k miles ago and literally zero signs of wear. Looks the same as it did the day I installed it.

Even if you’re completely useless when it comes to turning a wrench or doing anything handyman related, if you’re up for stitching this wrap on yourself, there’s no reason you should be afraid to take the wheel off too. If I remember correctly, it’s just one center nut to be removed behind the airbag, disconnect the 2 electrical plugs, and 2 bolts on either side of the steering column. These two bolts however are a unique “security torx” style requiring a bit with a hollow center, which you may need to go out and buy one. Size T30. But they can be found for only a couple bucks. Don’t let that stop you, trust me. Anyone capable of tying their own shoes could remove the steering wheel. And a few other bolts lets you remove the trim piece with the cruise/radio controls allowing you to tuck the wrap beneath it.

Just do it. You’ll be fine. This wrap is 20% of the price of a carbon fiber wheel or even less, and in my opinion looks and feels way better. Those CF wheels are too loud and obnoxious in my opinion. At the end of the day, these are 12-13 second cars at best with a little over 300whp at most (unless built and boosted of course). Don’t waste your money on a steering wheel that costs almost 10% of what your entire car is probably worth.
