I cant imagine the long tube CAIs make that much more power over a SRI or even the tubes with upgraded filters, right? Seems like a lot more work for not a lot more power.

I saw a video on YouTube where a guy gained like 10whp with just K&N panel filters. What do they advertise for gains on the long tube CAI? What type of dyno numbers have people seem for increases?

Long tubes might add a few more horsepower than drop ins and tubes, but it's mostly looks and sound.

I had Cobb post MAF tubes and aFe filters before the Takeda long tubes, and I can't tell any difference in power, but they open up a lot of intake sound, which is what I was after, and they look great.

IMO I'd stay away from SRI that suck in hot air from the engine compartment, but even then, the power loss isn't going to be noticeable.

Interesting. I can respect buying something for noise, to a point. I think the noise from these engines is worth hearing.

That said, I dug into this in a fair amount of detail and ended buying the aFe filters when they were on sale for black Friday and will end buying either new or used silicone tubes, strictly for the looks as its seems to not have much in the power dept.

Good conversation none the less and I appreciate the honesty.

Nice gains on that video! A bit tough as an apples to apples comparison since the other video was a bone stock G37, but still appreciate you sharing.

Lol. Not a chance in the world that a factory air box with k and n drop ins works as well as a long tube intake. Long tube for the win, I’ve had factory air box, I’ve had drop ins, I’ve had the stillen g3 and z1 long tube, I’ve even had the k and n typhoon Sri. Amin intakes and tune going on this week. Also the admin intake being 3inch coupled with new 70mm tb it’s going to be able to work more effectively. I would be willing to bet, that a FBO car would benefit more from the long tube intakes like the 3 inch than factory air box with drop in filters. Show me somebody with dyno video proof that factory air boxes car that are FBO that makes 340whp.... I average around 5-7 degrees warmer air temp than outside. Can’t be as good

$800 give or take for the eps tbs. Not sure if they are worth the money or not, haven’t installed them yet. I’m thinking it won’t make it worse just might not be cost effective. We’ll see this week. Should be good results more excited about a retune.
