you know what's funny. how is there supposed to be demand if that wasn't really the tokyo auto salon, it was the gtr auto salon. all the buzz was too busy with the tuned gtr's.

and franky it's kind of pathetic replica's are so welcomed, real companies spend their time and money on r and d and putting out a quality product so someone can just copy it.

it's no wonder it's getting harder to get jdm parts to be produced.

Well glad this was brought to my attention, thanks for posting my emails and relaying information in my phone calls... if you have questions I can put truth to please let know how I can help. I am very friendly as my email might appear.

To clear up a few things I have seen from some of this... well hearsay is fun btw... I do indeed run Top Secret USA and work very closely with our Japan office. Still going strong.

This aero concept was introduced on a USDM G37 imported to Japan. The idea was to release this aero package through OEM Infiniti dealerships, whether this has been decided is not set in stone, whether this will become a regular aftermarket idea, again not set in stone. Right now we are all in a holding pattern waiting to determine the next step. Why you might ask? For a reason someone else already suggested above, why bother making more parts for an industry that clearly has customers only waiting to reward the guy that can spray a bad mold of the original and call it "close enough". Simply put the cost of bringing in these items to the US is increasing because of simple economics. If you support "knock offs" well hopefully you trust these companies to make you product in the future, b/c this is a very real reality.

This aero kit is indeed being pre-sold with a very large condition, if it is decided it is not coming, well, it is what it is, and those individuals that want to be the first pioneers will find other solutions, and we will find other solutions for them. We are not advertising this price simply b/c it has not been made officially available to the US market. When it is, indeed we will let you know as well as all of our dealers.

Thanks for all the support to those who continue to support the JDM communtiy and the companies that design and sell original products only.

Jeff

Hope it gets produced in Polyurethane.

Indeed, most of the items (non-carbon) built by companies in Japan are fiber reinforced plastic, otherwise stitched with the acronymn FRP. Everything from Super GT to Formula D, Time Attack to Le Mans all feature FRP products on their cars because of functionality. FRP is as tough as they come with strong characteristics, easy to shape to become more functional, and easy to fix in the event of small damage. Blended materials like hybrid aero or polyurethane have the characterists of being more flexible but void of a lot of originality and complication in design as it is difficult to produce. Much is why we see lots of lip kits in a blended material or the like, especially in OEM design, and many designs very straightforward. A Urethane lip would also be higher priced, so you might need more gold than FRP. Products in FRP not produced in Japan have a horrible reputation of quality... this is not the same material of the majority of products imported from Japan.
Just my two cents!
