Is it me, or the core already took some beating and started to "declamp" itself.
Looking at flange there was bad seal, oxygen was sucked in and it made exhaust gases hotter. This phenomenal accelerated damage.
O2 sensor was reading lean condition and was dumping fuel in to the cat...

No "declamping" that I could see, nor any rattling while the cats were installed. Wasn't a huge fan of the Z1 Gaskets that I purchased, but no codes were thrown at the O2 sensor while I had it on the car.

Hard to see since picture not the sharpest, but white ripples in metallic core usually means it it was pushed in.

The cell core of these cats is spun into position. IE a collaped/compressed core is inserted and spun to open tightly against the inside of the cat housing.
A small amount of play is possible if you bang the cat back in forth when in hand. I do not recommend doing this.
When on the car I do not think any movement occurs.
I have no idea how this manufacturing method compares to other aftermarket or OEM cats.
I was not keen on these because of this initially.
However, the folks at FI shared their process with me, and they were very helpful and transparent along with 10+? years of selling these.
I dont find many, if any, forum posts stating machanical issues with FI cats.
Ive had a new set installed for about 5000 miles.
I did have a lean code once last week. But I reset it and so far it has not returned.

These are resonated- not a fan of the noise that comes with unresonated. No additional pics atm as I'm a consultant and been traveling on the road last few weeks.

Less than 3k. These were installed at the height of COVID, and as such I was working from home. I purchased a 6MT G35 Sedan in March of 2021 and the old G wasn't driven (outside of to the shop to get these removed and swapped for OEM) back in September.
