The holes line up to the oem hub, you use the nuts to lock
down the spacers, the you attach your wheel
to the spacer studs with your lug nuts
and now you have a 10mm offset more than
you had.

make sense.?

Not really.

"...you use the nuts to lock
down the spacers"

These nuts...don't they stick out from the spacer? How is a wheel going to lay flat if the nuts stick out? Ditto the OEM studs.

You have to have pockets on the back of the wheels.
all oem wheels have pockets for the factory studs
and the spacer nuts are recessed into the spacer...
and the oem studs that stick out a bit go into
the wheel pockets cut into the back of the wheel.
thus how the wheel sits flush.

some aftermarket wheels have these pockets and some
dont. If they don’t you need to remove the oem studs
from the hub buy extended studs and buy slip on spacers
to achieve the same thing. If you do this method it eliminates
the need for bolt on spacers.

its mainly depends on your wheel set up and if
you have wheel pockets or don’t and or if you
want to go through the hassle of removing all of
your oem studs from the hub and replacing them
with longer ones to allow for the slip on spacers.

in essence its all depending on how you want
your spacers and or if your wheel will accommodate
a bolt on spacer... or if you want to use spacers at all.

if your wheels are the correct offset and you
dont feel you need to push the wheels out to your fender
anymore then you don’t need spacers at all.

does that clarify better.?
i think I covered every aspect of every scinario.
