Read it again please. It clearly states you must have been a member for at least 10 days AND have at least 10 posts. I see that you have 5 posts. Also, do not ask why you can't post a thread the second that you make your 10th post. It's not instant. It'll be about a day or so after you meet the criteria. Also, read the sticky thread about what's required to post in classifieds because clearly you haven't. There are other requirements that I'm not going to go through here because it's in the sticky thread. That Kenny in the post above was kind enough to post a link to for you. Help yourself out by clicking on it and reading it.

Members can't close or delete their own threads here because of scammers, plain and simple. If everyone could be trusted to not be dishonest theiving garbage then it would be great. Unfortunately everyone's not honest so having the ability to erase evidence isn't granted to members.

If members who sell things would simply be courteous enough to report their threads with a request to close them, it's not that much work. But many forget or simply neglect to.

Please don't post here asking for a thread to be closed. Simply click the Report Post button on the first post in the thread with the sold item and put "Sold" in the note. Sellers should do this, not buyers or others. You have no idea how many times a "buyer" posts that they've purchased an item only for the sale to not be finalized and the item is still for sale. It's the seller's responsibility to report that their item has been sold so that the thread can be closed. This is best don't by clicking report post. Posting in the thread is not necessarily going to be seen right away (or at all) because all of the staff don't comb through each and every sale thread every day to see when items have been sold.

Should I stop helping by reporting the closed threads that I send through the report button? I understand it's the sellers responsibility to do so but unfortunately many sellers don't do it so I figured I'd help you guys out. If it's a problem though just let me know and I'll stop.

No. You do a fantastic job of helping with keeping the classified forum clean, and it's appreciated. Don't stop.

The main point I was trying to get across is the the sellers should be doing this for themselves. They are the ones that know for certain when the item is sold and the thread should be closed. And it's their responsibility to inform the staff to close a thread.

Thanks Jeremy I appreciate the kind words and will keep it up and hopefully sellers learn to do this on their own eventually. I'm astonished that they don't as it is. Pure laziness in my opinion. They just care about getting their money and leave the thread open

It annoys me when I see people bring back a thread asking if it's still for sale years later so I decided to take initiative rather then complain to the staff, who already have enough on their plate as it is keeping this forum in line, and do something about it to help out.

Cool...I've done this also, so at least I know I'm doing a good deed and it's okay to continue. I agree that it's really annoying to see new posts on insanely old FS threads. Probably best to just pm the person and ask them if it's still for sale.

I'm not sure if you're illiterate or you are literate and just posting that here to be clever or funny.
