HI. I'm interested in purchasing a BNIB Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust system. Obviously not for $1 , so price is negotiable.

Great exhaust. Very quiet. Unfortunately, the USDM version has been discontinued so finding one brand new will be difficult. Your best bet would be if a vendor had some overstock. I can help you get the JDM version (160-15222), but it is more than double the price people were paying for the USDM version.

Another option is the Kakimoto Racing exhaust for the G37. Again, price is a bit more.

Wait for both would be somewhere around 2-3 months.

Another option, if you are interested, is my Amuse R1-Titan, which I will be selling in the coming month(s)...

PM me if you are interested.

Yea, I hope that creating this thread might achieve my goal.

One popped on private classifieds here a week ago,...I missed it.

The Kakimoto you suggested looks nice, but I'm looking for something with bigger tips. I have the ArqRay system now, and the tips are conservative (size, look). I think something bigger will look better with my CF diaper (yet to be mounted).

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Ahhh, I gotcha...

I agree with you. The tips on the Fujitsubo are perfect. Good luck with your search.

USDM Version??
I have the Legalis R 160-15222, bought it during the final blowout last year.

The new JDM version is the same exact one, but called Authorize R 160-15222.

Bill, did you have yours long enough?? Mine is now sounding really aggressive at all throttles except idle.

If you did not have to make any alterations to your car then I don't know that you have the JDM Legalis-R. I say that based on my experience with Amuse. When my Amuse exhaust was being built, I was warned that, since it would be the first on a G in the US, that Amuse had not tested the exhaust on a US-Spec G37. There is a "charcoal canister" (evap canister) on USDM G37s and 370Zs that is not on the JDM vehicles. It is basically another means of emissions control that we have here in the States. Amuse, after working with BPA/370ZTune on this issue, now has a US-Spec exhaust for the Z34 to account for this canister, but they do not for the V36. Thus, I had to remove that canister for my exhaust to fit (it was nothing at all, really...).

Here is a picture of the difference between the USDM and the JDM Amuse exhaust for the 370Z.

I don't know too too much about the differences between the JDM and USDM Fujitsubo Legalis-R systems, but my best guess would be that, since it utilizes the same horizontal muffler design as the Amuse (1 versus 2 with the Amuse), that maybe that is the slight difference in the two. To be honest, I don't know for sure... What I do know is when I inquired to order this exhaust for Aaron, I was told that the USDM version has been discontinued, but I could get him the JDM version.

Authorize R Part # is 560-15222.
Legalis-R Part # is 760-15222.

As for the sound, I have owned a couple Legalis-R exhaust systems personally. I love them. When I had it on my G, I still had my stock cats, so it was very tame. I know I would have loved it with HFCs. I don't like an obnoxiously loud exhaust, so I knew to opt for the Legalis, as this line is known for how quiet they are - 2dB louder than stock at idle and 4dB louder at 5,000 RPM. When I had it on my Z, I had headers, HFCs, and a Y-pipe to complement it and it sounded amazing.

I know you have the Fujitsubo Y-pipe, right? Are you running HFCs or test pipes? Stock headers?

I don't know... I am trying to figure it out. I don't necessarily know that my above statement is correct, but, as I stated above, I do not know for certain. That is simply my best guess. The Fujitsubo Legalis-R does have a large horizontal muffler (bigger than the Amuse, I believe), but the fact that the pipes enter from the middle (as opposed to the two ends) allows for more clearance on ends of the mufflers.

Sorry for jacking your thread, Aaron. I hope you can find a Legalis-R. In my opinion, it's one of the nicest systems for the G.

I had one from when Kuruma was blowing them out, but either they tried to pull a fast one and send me a damaged one, or it got damaged in transit. I had to dispute via CC company cause they dragged their feet on a refund. A few weeks later there was fraudulent charges on my CC. Just saying, not that this was connected at all.

Back to the topic: Anybody know of a source for the Fuji Legalis-R?

Thanks in advance.

Bill

The Legalis-R has the same size muffler as the OEM.
Legalis was a marketing name to show it met JASMA noise levels. (Get it...Legal)!!
The Authorize-R has the dead same specs.

Anyway, I have the Legalis-R with the Legalis-R Y-Pipe, and it sounds so good after a few thousand miles. I don't regret it. Stock cats and headers.

So RedRover, are you drooling now.
