Qpham, I know what you mean. My coilovers just blew and and they dont want to do anything about it. I even took them off my car and sent them to them. Worst customer service ever. Dont really have a choice but to buy replacment fronts for $550 or go a differnent route?
I'd go a different route. I wouldn't buy anything tanabe anymore. I think a set of eibachs and the tokico blue shocks would be a better route. Anyways, tokico makes oem shocks for Nissan.

If I remember correctly, that's a similar position to where my GTspec front ladder brace is located. Wow.. sorry to hear both of you had that issue. What was Tanabe's answer? (if you'd like to PM that's fine too)
they refused to warranty it because I did not have one of their distributors install my coilovers. they said that because "you need a 'special' tool to install it." i just laughed at what they told me guess they think i'm an idiot. So now i refuse to buy tanabe because they are a piece of f-ing $#*&! and same goes with their customer service. I hope tanabe follows the path as HKS.....bankruptcy.
What i realize is that just because its made in "JAPAN" does not make it a good product. My "Chinese" made LEDs that i bought for $12 has lasted over 8 months. Much longer than my "Japanese" made coilovers.

oh hell no.... You got to be sh1tin me. You sent them in and they refused to perform it? WTF. and $550 for a set of fronts? GTFO. thats straight ridiculous.
1. leave car out of commission to send in them
2. cover shipped charges.
3. refusal to fix their own dam product?
that is some bull. smh at tanabe some of the most junkiest Customer service PERIOD.

Yep. I'm not saying all their products bad. I know that there are plenty of people that love them but IMO i will never buy another tanabe product again. it seems like they are losing a few loyal customers due to their POS customer service.
My customer that had his fronts leak (that I installed) got a different answer. Not anything about any special tool (where did that even come from???) but that I must have installed them improperly. Supposedly I used pliers or some type of metal tool to grip the piston shaft when installing the top nut. Because there is some extremely slight marking around the shaft. I don't know where that came from, but it wasn't from me installing them. My guess is something inside the damaged strut caused the marking. They don't even look like a mark from being gripped by a tool at all.
Complete BS. I have never used any tool to grip any piston shaft when installing coilovers, Tanabes or any other. Ever. I know how to install coilovers and used 2 wrenches to install the top nut like you're supposed to. The marks are almost impossible to see and definitely not the type of gouge you would get from gripping the shaft with channel locks or vise grips. And I know that was not the case becasue I'm the one who installed them! I guess the other 3 sets of Tanabes that I've installed were just some sort of fluke because they aren't leaking, including the set on my own car that I've had on there for 2.5 years. Tanabe is definitely being cheap and trying to duck their responsibility for replacing a defective product IMO.
