I was going to use these wheels as my everyday wheels. I was going to swap his front tires for mine and my rear tires for his, put my tpms in these and use them as my dailys. Then sell my current stocks (have some curb rash) and use that money to get 20’s for the summer time.

When i told the guy at the body shop what i wanted to do he said it would be about $175 (before taxes). I figured, awesome. $175 and i have some sick painted wheels (which match my theme) and pretty fresh tires.

I went back yesterday and he said that he didn't realize exactly what i was asking and it was going to be "at least double" that. He is a nice guy and i've worked with him in the past so I don’t think he isn't pulling on over on me, it's just expensive. He said he has to mount and balance 8 wheels and tires essentially.

<OSo about $400 just to get the wheels on the car didn't seem worth it to me that's why i listed them for sale.

<OAlthough it is probably a good thing as I was just accepted to Law school and start in the fall, so it is probably better that I am not spending more money on my car. <O</O

Swapping TPMS + mounting tires is only ~20$-35 a tire...

I just had mine done + road forced for 80$. Almost every shop I called is around the same price here in Florida. Tell that fool hes nuts and go check out Tire Kingdom or someone else...

Really? Dam, maybe its just the area I asked the shop across the street and they said the same about $45 a tire.

I ddidnt want to go to a mavis or something like that because they aren't very careful, I didn't want to risk chipping the paint.

^ exactly this... My brother works at Americas Tire Co. here in Cali (Discount Tire Co. in the rest of the US) .. they are the largest tire shop corporation in the US and they charge $20 per wheel for mount and balance. Grand total for 8 would be $160... Tell that other guy to GTFO!

$45 is a rip off.. Little sh!thole shops out here charge $10-15 for mount and balance. I'd go check other places man if you're still interested in keeping the wheels, if not I'll end my rant and wish you GLWS!

^^ It shouldn't even be 160$. They are not mounting and balancing 8tires only 4, and they should not be charging you to break down the rim and pulling the TPMS b/c you don't have to take the tire fully off to get the TPMS.

^^^ Just watch them and have them put extra padding on the machine. It should not chip the paint or dmg the rims. I just had my Vossens done w/out any problems....If they didn't scratch mine, then they sure as hell should not be messing up yours.

dam i really didn't know it was that cheap to get wheels mounted and balanced.

Thanks for the heads up guys!

If i can find a place i trust that is considerably cheaper then my original estimate, maybe i'll give these another shot..

Until then, if someone wants them.. they are still for sale.

This is for all 4 wheels right? And the tires are NOT mounted? I might be interested and can arrange a FedEx pick up from your house that'll take care of shipping without giving you any problems.

I might have missed your response but is the entire rim painted? The barrels done or are they stock? Where in NY are you?
