I hate my brand new 2013 wheels
If you're talking about the OEM 17s, then I'm with you. Not only do they look small, but the design itself is very unattractive and bland to me. IMO this should not be an issue for a $35K+ "upscale" model
Personally, if I had a non-sport, I'd be frustrated that Maximas, Altimas, Accords, etc all come with nicer looking wheels (subjective, but I'm sure most would agree). If you are willing to put up the funds, then I'd suggest searching for some sport OEM wheels, (i.e. the sport 18s from the sedan can be had for pretty cheap)

Just keep looking around for coupe 19" wheels, they look much nicer than any of the sedan wheels, and if you live where it snows a lot just save your stock wheels for a winter tire set. Agreed about the sedan wheels, even the 18" sport wheels aren't that great looking. The split spoke 18" sport wheels that came out in 07 are the best looking sedan wheels IMO.
The Spiderman Sport wheels have actually grown on me. I agree that the split spoke 18" sport wheels that came out in 07 are the best looking sedan wheels. Unfortunately, I don't think these will clear the 14 inch rotors and massive calipers on the Sport model.
I think the 17 inch wheels on the Journeys (non-sport) make the car look pedestrian and much cheaper. Not sure why they put those wheels in the car. They really should have just standardized on the wheels from the Performance Tire and Wheel package. For about $500-600, that's the best option you can add to the non sport model.
