similar thing happened to me at the infiniti dealership. went to a different one and bought the car. went back and laughed in the guys face

interesting...not sure how old you are, but i bought my first audi when i was 32 and had no issues. i ordered the car with $1000 deposit. picked it up when it arrived in 3 months.
