Favorite G pic thats NOT YOURS!
^^^ I'll just mention a few things
- GTM SC with 4.2 stroker kit
- All Access evolution parts available for that sedan
- Amuse exhaust
That alone buys you a new fully loaded G sedan and then some
Frankly I can say with high confidence that this G has the highest concentration of high end JDM and non JDM parts available for the sedan.
Chris has built a beast and a truly unique car
I think GTM started a thread detailing what they've done to the engine so you can start searching there. Also, the "Authentich parts thread" has a good collection of the parts he has acquired as of late.

That said, anyone with a bank account can buy nice parts, but that does not guarantee a great build. That G, without question, is a great build. That is why I say it is very likely the best G in the world. My opinion...
I would say, "Why modify at all?" It's not an investment. It's a hobby and a passion. He enjoys modifying his car and, unlike many, he has done it with the best parts available for it. If he wanted a "nicer" car then he would have purchased one, I'm sure. With the amount of money he has dumped into that car, he could easily own something four times as expensive as a new G37. The engine build, brakes, wheels, exhaust, and aero alone add up to considerably more than the price of a new G.

G's are great cars and I love mine but you cannot deny that its an entry level luxury and low-mid end performance no matter what or how much you sink into it. That being said I will be putting at-least 8k more into mine (3k spent already) so I guess I am a slight hypocrite aswell.. It is easier to justify small purchases (1 - 2k) then to spend an extra 30 - 40k on a "better" car. So maybe it boils down to that (with "small purchases" being 5-8k for him instead of the 1 - 2k for me).

It all boils down to us all being retarded when you think of it but it's a passion and a curse.
Sorry for the derail please continue with the sexi pictures!!
Good post and I agree! Still hard for me to understand... I'd make the jump to GTR in a SECOND if I had the extra money to spend and wanted to stick with NISSAN. If I wanted a top end Sedan it would not be Infiniti, or at the very least it would be an M.

I have spent more money modifying my G than I did buying it in the first place, but, at the end of the day, I built it. It's my car. I also think the majority of the members on this forum, if given the pick between a G and a GT-R, would choose the GT-R hands-down. The only issue is, if you like modifying the G, there is a chance you enjoy modifying any and every car you own, right? So you'd only be happy rolling in a stock GT-R for so long. I would bet that you'd likely get that familiar itch to modify your GT-R, as well - an endeavor a bit more costly than modifying the G.

A GT-R may cost twice as much as a G but modifying a GT-R would likely end up costing 10 times as much as modifying a G!!
Bill, your not supposed to say how much a build is or people think your insane for doing it like I did when comparing builds to possible cars I was going to get. I also got the same reaction when I was the first one in the world to buy the Meisterschaft exhaust for the sedans and my DPE's(I hate this company so much). But Bill does make a good point, every vehicle I have ever owned has been modified. My parents since I was in HS has asked me what drives me to do it. I always tell them it's a hobby that I enjoy and I like knowing the fact that my car won't look, sound, or perform like all the others on the road. You can also do the same arguement when discussing home entertainment speakers (another expensive hobby). I could have easily just bought some cheap ones from best buy, but I wanted something of quality where I can hear everything; that is why I have a full Paradigm system for my home theater, Wilson Benesch Arcs for my computer (these cost more than my gaming PC), and B&W's for my bedroom. It is all in the eye of the beholder, I do things for me that I feel will increase me having a more enjoyable experience, may it be from my car to my music listening habbits.
Thanks, man. I appreciate it...
I didn't put any actual numbers out there, did I?
I don't like talking about money when it comes to modifying. People who know their parts and do their research know how much money is involved in executing a quality build with quality parts. Either way, there are always going to be critics and haters. "Crazy" to one person might be spending $5,000+ on a quality exhaust system, while crazy to you or me might be replacing the stock G exhaust with one made by poorly-constructed [BRAND ABC].
You're right, though. Build your car (or your home theatre) for you.
