First 2011 Infiniti IPL has arrived!
Alright I went to a dealer today to see about a part, and as I was walking through the showroom, I saw an IPL. Had to go check it out.
I'm just going to be the first one on record to say this car is totally worth it at that sticker. NOW WAIT. The caveat is that you agree that the G37 is worth it in general. A loaded G37 is in the high 40s. Mine with the aero package was I think ~49K. This car is fully loaded, has the extra tune for more HP and torque(albeit not much), the exhaust that does sound good, the unique paint, and red leather seats. Not that I think $50k is chump change, but it is well in line with the pricing of this car...I think even a tad low in comparison to fully loaded G.
The paint is very very cool..but definitely won't appeal to everybody. I'm not even sure I could do it because it absolutely has some purple in it, but I love the pearl look. The red leather, as I have stated in the past, is awesome but some won't like it. I personally think I would probably get tired of it after a while because there is so much red...that being said it looks great. I wish they would have two toned the red a bit more with spurts of black because the red is pretty overwhelming as you open the door...rear more than the front. If it wasn't SO red I would love the interior of this car.
So all in all, I think this car definitely fits with the line and is a good deal considering the added goodies you get on top of a loaded G37S. That being said...it is still $50K. But having seen it in person just now, I would definitely take a look at it if I was in the market for a new coupe. If they were to squeeze out another 50 HP for this price it would be a killer deal.

I think you can, you can't get Malbec and red leather with 6mt though iirc? Has to come with black leather instead? Definitely weird... like the whole IP and graphite interior combo of previous models...
I'd rather have the vert. The IPL isn't all that bad for the price. But I just think it should have been called the limited edition. There is nothing outstanding in performance about it when compared to the normal S. Everything people like about it is pure cosmetic, and to me a hard top vert blows all the "cosmetic" features of the IPL away, for the price. At least when Ford did a cool color changing paint job and interior they put it on a 390hp supercharged Cobra... 7 years ago......
I don't like it, I am happy I have my 2009 G37S. I going to pull parts from the car and add them to my 2009. like the shocks to match with my springs. I may also use the Eng cover and paint over the IPL. I also will be doing the IPL CBE it's the same setup thats on the 2010 NISMO 370z. But I am going to take the mid and Y pipes and connect them to the sport muffler.
