Beauty and the beast
Not true. If you take out the spare tire a mountain bike will easily fit. I ride once a week and have the routine down pretty well. I can usually get the wheels off my bike and in the trunk before the 'old' guys can get their bike on their bike rack.
Added benefit of not having your bike fall off the rack at 70mph, or stolen.
EDIT: I can't tell if that's a fox 32 or 36, but I have to adjust my Rock Shox Pike all the way down to its lowest level of travel to get it to fit.

I ride 2-5 times a week so to be taking the spare tire out and replacing that many times would get bothersome, not to mention breaking the bike down all those times. It takes about 45 seconds to put the rack on and when its off, you cant see a thing unless you look real close.
