There is a thread of a guy trying to fit a V12TT Mercedes motor into a SLK. Honestly I am surprised to see male drivers on that site

I like the SLK... but personally, I think its a girly car, especially compared to the G.
I know they might be close in price... but I would rather an BMW 328i convertible...

I hope you don't take this the wrong way... but in my opinion, the SLK is a cheap, rip-off of the SL, with no engine(unless you got the AMG...)
My dad has the SL550, and the SLK is just no comparison. I would have gotten a different make of car than a benz, unless you get the good Mercedes...

I guess you missed it but this car is for my girl. I do not want her driving a SL. 250hp is more than enough in that little car for her.

Mercedes is well known for lack of problems. Unlike BMWs that are always having problems.

All she wanted was a convertible that looked good, was quick and reliable. She really wanted the G37 convertible but I did not want to spend that much. It really came down to the SLK or Mini cooper convertible, I think the SLK is the better choice. She really doesnt need 400 hp or 200 mph capability. It can do 70 mph and carry shopping bags, she is happy.

dunno where u got that info. but just from experience i believe this to be wrong, well wrong about the lack of problems for the benz and right about the beamers haha

but congrats on the car though i do like the slk, imo the best sporty coupe for a girl!
