Takes about 5 seconds to take apart the trunk if anyone is interested.

I had 2 questions and I was just wondering....

1) By stripping the back seats, swapping to CF seats, swapping out your mirrors, and removing little tiny things here n there in the car (that albeit do make you lose weight...also make you lose functionality), how much weight is actually reduced?

and...

2) what does that weight-loss add up to in terms of increases in performance times for 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile, etc...?

i mean if you think about it we need to reach a weight reduction of about 200-300 lbs to match at least a g35. so basically think of it like this a g35 with a g37 engine. on top of that add an exhaust and chip im sure you'll be much happier with the luxry and sports part of owning a 37. yeah prut we will meet up sometime and ill hook you up with the tinter if you haven't done it yet.

with no back seats its not much of a luxury car... shoulda bought a Z... removing the mirrors is just dumb they barely weigh anything to begin with... Honestly if you want to make our cars lighter you need to remove a lot of the sound proofing material... there is probably more than twice as much than a g35

+1 on the Z comment, if youre planning on tearing your G apart you should have just waited on a base model 370z and tore that apart.
Even with removing the seats and trunk you are not going to get that much faster, nothing you'd actually notice, it's all mental.
Gut the trunk down to the metal
remove back seats/pass front seat
go with carbon fiber doors
carbon fenders
carbon hood
carbon trunk
light weight driver seat
light weight wheels
if you want a "noticable" difference.
But then you won't have a G37, you'll have a $40k shell with a motor.

Weight reduction is great, but our cars are already front heavy. something like 53/47 IIRC. Anything you remove in the rear of the car will only further upset the weight difference... just throwing it out there.
