Where did you heard that from? Unless you're a Native American lol.

I miss going up there, I used to travel up there at least once a week for work purposes. Should go to Seattle Chinatown and get some food. Wait till it's spot Prawn season lol!

Washington: Sales tax, no income tax
Oregon: Income tax, no sales tax

Most states have both... hmmm, maybe that explains the huge deficits of both states!

RYs06MT,
Oregon is amazing by far and that goes for the entire Northwest region. I was raised in Oregon but now live in NJ and I can't wait to move back there when I get a chance. Seems to be a common thing today where Californorians are starting to move up to the Northwest. Beaverton is a good city. Its in one of the wealthiest counties of Oregon. Having said that though, I've noticied that they've increased the amount of police that partol the area so be mindful of speeding. I remember going back there recently and drove by 7 to 10 cop cars in a day... Anyways Nike Headquarters is located in Beaverton and a few other companies. Check out Route 101 when coming up, I think you'll enjoy the drive and the view.

One thing I learned while organizing 2 events a month for the past year - people have a tendency to over complicate things.

I was born here and lived near this area most of my life. I could take people on some of the most fun back roads around. I would be willing to bet that most people who live in the Portland Metro, even those on the West side, have not driven most of them.

Simply put, BBQ/restaurant + 1 to 3 hours of driving... more fun than a traditional 'meet' IMO. (Usually more cost effective too.)

To the OP:
Not much to do here unless you like outdoor stuff, at least not much that is not 'run of the mill'. Perhaps if you tell us your hobbies and interests we could make some suggestions.

Thanks, I'm actually back and fourth between OR and CA.. Your right about the outdoor stuff and even that's limited when it's rainy every day. I mostly just spend my time at Nike whq Beaverton, or downtown in the pearl at bars/restaurants. Me and Blane might be shooting some pictures this wknd in PDX before I fly back to Cali if any of you are interested. I kind of wanted to check out the Rose Parade boat races though, I've never experienced anything like that in So Cal.
