Hey all,

I will be moving to the Northern Virginia area soon. New job in Herndon so am looking for homes in Herndon, Ashburn, leesburg, purcellville, roundhill, manassas etc...

I have a 2008 G37 journey, sport package. What do you all do for the winter? I was looking on tirerack and they sell winter wheel/tire sets. Do they come ready to go? Just fill em up with air and mount them or do they need to be shipped to a shop for balancing etc? Don't have large cars to transport tires around town in. I'll actually be in town on December 5th and staying with family friends until we sell our house in texas and find a new one in Virginia.

mrmichael...I work in Herndon as well and live in Fairfax...also look at Reston...it's very close to Herndon...if you're single, definitely check out Reston Town Center

winter here can be hit or miss...one winter, we get a flurry and the next winter we get 3 feet of snow

My winter setup: holding off on buying coils till spring. lol other than that, I'll try not to drive in the snow if we get any. Such a great plan...

i used to always handwash my car at my house before i moved up here, but unfortunately, i don't have access to an outside water source now.

I don't know buddy... around here...don't trust them with your car/wheels...it will get messed up...lol Don't even trust your dealer that give free car wash!
I have seen hand washed shops in other state, but not around here, all machined which can damage our soft sport wheels with ease...
wait for a warm day and wash at your friends house! lol
If you find a good place, let us know! ^^
When is a good Sunday to meet?

There are places near me where it's like a giant gas station-like building, but instead of gas each port has a hose and a drain to wash it yourself. Maybe you can find something like that in NOVA? I forget what they call them lol... it'll come to me eventually

check out detailed image.com, they make a no rinse car wash. I use it in the winter to wash in my garage.

I have talked to two members on here, eMPeezy and rAiN, to set up a mini meet just for the NOVA members(but anyone can join). Maybe we can eat and take some photos at the parking lot. Due to work schedule and busy holiday season we are going to meet after work. If anyone can join us Thursday night at Tyson's mall, please post on here or PM me. I will update with exact time and place! See you guys soon! ^^

I'd be down for this Thursday, the 8th? What time?

I'd literally be coming straight from work...
