XM Traffic in NJ

Does anyones XM Traffic work in North Jersey?

Mine does not show green/red/yellow on any roads in NJ excpet rt 80.

I called XM and the first rep told me my radio needed to be re-programmed that it should work and re-sent out the signal. I wated the 20 mintues and it still does not show any traffic on any of the roads except rt 80. I called back 4 more times and I was told all the other times that NO ROADS in NJ are covered. I do not understand this since rt 80 IS working.

Can anyone get traffic in NJ on the following roads?

NJ Turnpike (I95)
Garden State Parkway
Rt 3
Rt 17
Rt 4
Rt 46
Rt 1&9
Palisades Interstate Parkway
the birdges & tunnels (GWB, Holland, Lincoln)

Is something wrong with my traffic or does it truely not work in these areas and I shuld cancel my subscription?

Any help would be great!

Thank you!

Hey,

I live in northern NJ and I noticed the exact same problem. Rt.80 is the only one i get info for.

I was OMW to the atlantic city and I didn't even receive any information for the parkway or turnpike, and those are major routes!!

Also, when I hit traffic on 80, and I try to use the "traffic detour" button, it never works for me. I'm not sure if my car is faulty or the system just sucks that bad. If that is the case then there is nooo way I am going to renew the subscription for it.

If you get any updates please let me know. Thanks

The XM traffic is not available in every area. It is not available yet in Colorado Springs but should hopefully soon give info on I25 that runs through here.

I believe they have something on their site. If you call them though they should be able to tell you what roads they are working to get traffic monitoring on in the near future.

When I called they said it does not work anywhere in the state of NJ but it works in NY. Basically when you enter the state it shuts off she said. I was like "that makes no sense since it works on 80."

Also, when i hit the button for nearby traffic, it gives me all the data for all the roads (4, 17, 3, etc) it just doesnt show up on the map. If this is true that it does not work in NJ, then why does all that work?

So Confused!!!!

Anyone else?

Ok the updates that you are looking at are provided by individuals and other means. They only show up on the map if the road has the sensors on it that XM monitors from what I know. The nearby traffic info should work for everyone but the traffic congestion on the map will only work for roads that have the sensors on them. These roads are normally only interstate and highway roads.

Well if your unit is broken then mine is too.

When I was on the turnpike and the parkway I was SLAMMMMEEED in traffic yet, the nav system didn't warn me or give me an alternative route.

When I went into the "traffic info" screen, it was blank. So there is def a problem with infiniti or XM

I know I told you I was going to call yesterday but I completely forgot, Sorry.

I'm going to def call sometime within the next few days. If XM doesn't give me a straight answer then I'll contact my dealership. If they don't give me a straight answer i'll call infiniti.

I'll keep you updated

Which highways/interstates are you referring to? I don't know NY so I might not be able to help that much. Make sure you are looking for the Red roads on the map which are incident and flow enable. The Blue and Green are only incident roads which will show construction and accidents in the info button and it should show on the map as well I believe.
