Help! Bumper removal/installation.

My car was in a hit & run last week, and my body shop was kind enough to order me a brand new bumper at 1/2 of MSRP, and squeeze me into their busy week for prep and paint of this new bumper. Since I can't afford any down time with my car, I will have to install the bumper myself one of these days after work and was hoping to get some help.

I was wondering if anyone local has ever replaced a G35 rear bumper, or has some skill in regards to this kind of job.

I have all the tools that would be necessary, as well as a bunch of beers to keep you hydrated.

Sorry, I've only done the front bumper.

It's really not to hard to do.
I've done it a couple of times.

Most of it is obvious. (from memory so may not be exact)
- pop clips on the trunk openning trim, then lift off
- remove tail lights, nuts on the inside
- plastic valance trim right behind rear wheel, bolt & spring tab
- a couple of bolts on the lower valance

& then.....
- 3 bolts on each side from inside the trunk; blue circles in pic
- 2 clips in green circles, gently pry up

Hope this helps...
Good luck with it

Wow, thanks!

You make it look so easy!

I have no problems getting messy in the engine bay, or working with suspension/brakes, but am hesitant to work with the body panels.

Just thought...
Here's a better detail of the clips in the middle.
They're the trickiest to deal with.

Thanks again for the detailed images.

I will attempt this tonight.

Do you have a rough idea of the time it takes to take off/reinstall a bumper?

Yeah, thanks.

My body shop was kind enough to do this for free.
