skunk
do NOT drive in the twin peaks like you do on regular roads. i hit a skunk today, taking a long down-hill turn - **** jumped under my car. all i saw was 2 white stripes in the headlights, and something rolling behind the car in the rear view mirror. he may have jumped up and flipped me off - i didn't see. but the smell... OMFG....
thankfully it was not really bad - i released the brakes the last second, so the car was no longer squatting - thank god i didn't have a dropped suspension, otherwise i would have scraped him all over the road.
immediately went to the car wash and rolled through it twice - undercarriage wash is steam, so it cleaned it off pretty well. 2 hours later there was practically no smell, even in the trunk (imagine my girlfriend's face when i show up to pick her up, open the trunk to put her stuff in there, and she almost barfs all over me - there was a whiff...).

Wow, close call, Igor. Good thing you washed your car right away. I remember a member posting something of the same nature with a skunk. However, if I recall correctly, his/her odor lingering experience persisted for a very long time.
