So I barely got this q40 probably have 3 weeks with it and went to go check the obd port and found this. Anyone have and idea what it is?

 

So this is a OBD splitter to obtain access to the car's Can bus and Kline.
First thing that comes to mind is tuning.
This mod is ideal for those folks who want to install a BT OBD scanner/tuner without taking up the space of the OEM port.
Some gauges that read off the CAN bus use this type of connection as well.
Unfortunately it will you doing more recon to find out what it actually is.
