My catalytic converter has just recently been a problem and the dealer said I need to replace it but cats are expensive is there any way I can replace that with an exhaust system? If so what kind. Still new to the car scene so bare with me please

 

What state are you in? ex. Here in CA, you need to use OEM cats and the state is fairly restrictive on who can do the work. On the flip side, my friend lives in AZ and he legally replaced his cats with straight pipes and continues to remove emissions equipment from his Audi.
