Battery and brake light hell

I have a 2013 journey sedan. First I love the car, my first car that I actually chose. I've had it for a year and now on year 2 I'm getting quite a few problems now. She's at 170k miles now when she was only 136k when i got her. I had a BCM get fried from the sunroof leak. I fixed it and got another BCM installed and programmed. Now I'm having another electrical problem that seems even worse.

About 2 weeks ago i got the battery and brake light while I was out and about. I searched on here and I saw that it was probably the alternator. About 5 minutes after finding that post she died in a parking lot. Couldn't jump, nothing just dead. Got a tow. Over the next week I got a alternator installed. Once I got her back on the road I'm not gonna lie. I was very aggressive, gave her a bit of a shake down. About 10 or 15 miles worth. Manual mode, up shifting, down shifting etc . Anyway on the way home around the 25 mile mark the brake and battery light came back. I made it home this time.

Pulled the battery, got it checked and apparently the battery was good. I tested my luck a few nights ago, just a regular drive around town and she died on me about 2 miles out from home. I got her home where she sits now. I brought a new battery, charged it up and put it on. Still have the battery and brake light. At this point ive lost all confidence in my G and i miss her like a dead loved one.Im lost here i dont know where to go next. New battery, new alternator and still having the issue. Any help. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Is it wiring harnesses, grounding or maybe something to do with the old sunroof leak? I am stumped here please help yall.

Have you checked to see if your brake lights are on in the rear when the brake light on the dash come on. May start there. If they are it could be the switch behind the brake pedal or perhaps the hand brake. I would start by making sure your lights are working properly and see if they still are when the dash lights come on.

Did you check ALL of the fuses/fusible links on/near/around the battery positive terminal?

I should've clarified it's an 7AT. I appreciate you at least responding. The lights are working fine even with the dash.

Yeah all the fuses where good I even pulled that big box up you mentioned, all fuses checked out. So I decided to check the alternator. Off day took advantage. Before going throught the hell of pulling it this morning I did the positive post test with my new battery after charging it and she died instantly during removal of positive post. So after a few hours of dealing with another removal with my friend help we got it checked. It was dead.

I don't know how maybe I got crappy luck or the alternator was a lemon but it apparently died. I'm sending it back tomorrow. I hit the local junk yard and picked up an alternator there. Got it installed with next to no light at the end and car now runs. The install time is so much faster with an extra set of hands ill never do this alone again.

I only have a check engine light now but a solid one, im chalking it up to my busted catalytic converters. Gave a small shake down, no issues so far. Ill be updating this if all goes fine or to hell again. I appreciate the suggestions and help, G nation.
