What's this part called?

So I've been looking online for the past two weeks searching for the name of the part and I can't find anything useful. There's some kind of shielding, matting, liner, or insulation between the transmission and the floor. Well, a few of the fasters that hold it up against the underbody of the car are missing which is causing some of the part to rest on top of the transmission and specifically the reverse sensor plug and wiring, which in turn is causing the reverse camera to work intermittently. Does anyone know that TF that damned part is called and where I can get the fasteners?

Some details about your car would be helpful..

Year? Coupe/Sedan? AT/MT? Perhaps a pic of what you need? You have to give us something to go on...

More information would be nice.

I think he's talking about the metal heatshield.

If so some M6x1.25 nuts (10mm nuts) with a washer or built in washer will do the trick.

09 coupe sport 6mt, I'll add pics next time the car is up. Also it's not the metal heat shield. It's some kind of padded fabric that's fastened to the body with big *** plastic washers which screw on to a fastener on the body. But it lines the transmission tunnel between the transmission and the car body above it.

I'll check the catalogs, but to be honest, that is a rather obscure and inconsequential piece. Even if it is/was available, it might be easier on you to just rig something up.

Still, I will look...

Being that it’s fabric or carpeted its probably a NVH insulation panel.

That is what I am thinking he is referring to and, typically, these panels are not available post-factory.

The parts catalogs do list a "fusible" insulation panel, but it appears to be a generic piece that can be applied anywhere (p/n: G5930-89905). The panel is likely adhesive-backed (I'm assuming). However, I have found nothing along the line of clips/nuts/etc. that would be used to fasten the piece to the trans tunnel.

I still say it would be easier if the OP just found a way to rig something up like BULL recommended. Or, perhaps, hit up a junkyard and scavenge something from there.
