My 5th gear synchro is going out, it geinds kinda bad going into 5th from 4th and 6th to 5th but still goes into 5th.
i am wanting to change the entire transmission but keep it 6mt and add upgrades that can handle a stage 2 engine and a stage 2 twin turbo setup within the next 6 months.
i can get a new non-synchro for 2500 from Z1 motorsports and installed for 750 from a legit car shop. Ebay for used 6mt transmissions $600-1200.
if i were to buy a used transmission from a different car, what 6mt should i buy? like, what specific part number? If this sounds dumb but i must ask, but would a nismo 6mt be better for the 6mt transmission swap, or are they already the same as the 08 g37s coupe 6mt transmission, are they also the same as the IPL 6mt transmission?
What type of differential should i run? Csc elimination kits? Msc? Clutches and fly wheels? Carbon fiber drive shaft?
any help would be appreciated.
my price range is stay below 4k, but could push to 4500 in total, which includes the price of 6mt transmission i have to buy.
