My wife has a 2013 G37x (AWD) with approx. 75K miles. I seldom get to drive it LOL. If we go anywhere, she likes me to put the wear & tear on my Nissan Murano. Getting back to the topic. I am looking at the service manual (got from NICO) about the maintenance needed at the 75K mile mark. Specifically I was looking for the recommended service interval for the transmission and when the differential oil needs to be serviced or replaced.
The manual says that it is "maintenance free". Really??. I can understand that if it has never been serviced and has high miles on it. Also, it recommends changing the spark plugs at 60K. I would have thought doing that closer to 100K.
Any advice? If you do recommend a fluid change, let me know of any DIY experiences / precautions, etc. you have and if I will need any filters, gaskets, etc. Since this is my wife's car and the extended warranty (from the dealer) is now expired; I am just now looking into the maintenance. (PS. My Murano has a CVT. It appears these have the more traditional transmission). That's how little I know about it.
Other things I see might need to be done are changing the Coolant and Brake Fluid. Any insights on these services? I also notice the fuel filter is in the fuel tank and is considered "maintenance free".

 

CVT is not a traditional transmission. Maybe traditional service intervals.

I would do a drain/fill every 30K in a g37x with automatic. Change rear end oil every 2-3 years. The latter you can easily do yourself. The trans service has certain requirements.

Brake fluid flush every 2 years. Do it yourself with a pressure bleeder. Coolant drain/fill every 4-5 years. Don't forget your battery.

 

I was wondering what type transmission fluid is good for 2009 G37. Also will it be hard to DIY drain/fill to save $200+?

 

Keep in mind there is no OEM dipstick for the seven-speed auto, so no easy way to do a full fluid change unless a factory trained tech handles it. You can read about adding a dipstick, but that's not an easy task, even for those with mechanical skills. As for fluid type, I like Redline ATF D4 since it's a high quality synthetic ATF that meets factory specs.
