Hey guys I’m new to this forum, a little about me: I’m 16 years old, and for my 16th birthday back in April I got this g37 which was my dads car but he wanted to get a new car so he gave me his instead of trading it in! It has 142k miles and I’ve spent about $1,000 on repairs but I still love it haha. My future upgrades: Lowering springs Aftermarket wheels Chrome delete Painted/ plasti dipped emblems. Also I work as a dishwasher in a pizza restaurant and get paid $9 an hour

That's one lucky kid Congratulations.
Welcome to the community. I wish I got a G when I was 16 haha. Careful with it — it's no supercar by today's standards, but it is quite a bit of power for a first car. That being said, an amazing first car to get your passion fire going . Looks like your dad kept it in fantastic shape. Can't wait to see what you turn it into.

Thanks man! And yea I keep it in rlly good condition, I keep it up to date on oil changes and maintenance, it has 143k miles on it so it runs into a few problems but I’ve gotten it fixed tho, and yes I treat the car nice. I let the engine warm up when I start it and I don’t accelerate fast or brake hard. I’ve only rlly “raced” it like 3 times

Oh, accelerating hard isn't an issue. The torque these cars make is pretty low, so your diff, driveshafts, and axels are safe. Engine also likes to rev high. Don't be afraid to put it past 5–6k. As long as your oil is good, it will be fine. I've driven the crap out of my car for 100k km now, and it's still smooth as butter.

I've run half-a-dozen HPDEs with mine, so don't fear pushing the loud pedal to the floor or invoking anti-lock when pushing the whoa pedal.

ok thanks for the info man! I also put premium gas in to keep the engine running at its best. I’ve rlly just be driving cautiously cause my dad drove the hell out of it since it was his “everyday” car and he had a better car to take care of so he didn’t rlly care about the G, also my car has broken down b4. just been driving calm cause I want this car to last to 250k miles lol. Best of luck to u and ur build and keep me updated!
